St. Marks celebrates Lincolnshire Day by sharing the love
Lincolnshire: the birthplace of Issac Newton, home of one of the only surviving copies of the Magna Carta, the first place to scan a barcode and the home of St. Marks.

A wonderful place, Lincolnshire is known for its beautiful countryside, farming heritage and many historical events.

To celebrate Lincolnshire Day this Saturday, St. Marks store managers have shared why they believe it is a brilliant city to work and live in.

Chris Claxton, Store Manager at Debenhams loves Lincoln for its prospects and landmarks: “With a great mix of high street and local specialist retailers along with a thriving, ever expanding and successful university, Lincoln also has many key landmarks such as the cathedral and castle and is the city that the famous Red Arrows call ‘home’. These are just some of the reasons why I love Lincolnshire.”

Linda Allwood, Mamas & Papas Store Manager commented: “I enjoy living in Lincolnshire because it really is a county for everyone. There’s a good mix of rural and city. There’s a great nightlife but it’s also very easy to get out and about and enjoy the countryside and coast.”

The St. Marks Centre Manager, Valerie Johnson, also loves Lincolnshire: “Lincolnshire is a beautiful place and I really enjoy seeing the beautiful picturesque towns and countryside when I drive to work every morning.”

“I love working in Lincoln for many reasons, but the customers we get at St. Marks play a big factor. They are warm, friendly and a pleasure to meet. To celebrate further, we’ll be welcoming the Lincolnshire Day Food Festival this Saturday.”

The 1st October also marks Old People’s Day. Later this month, St. Marks will be teaming up with Toby Carvery and the Lincolnshire Hub of the Royal Voluntary Service to host a dinner which will invite elderly people to come and socialise, enjoy a free meal and freebies.

There are limited places and anyone wanting to attend is asked to contact Fern Lyons, 0113 2616253 to book a place.
